Characteristics
Skinoren Cream is a medicine for acne for use on the skin. The active ingredient of the medicine is azelaic acid, which has antibacterial effects (inhibits the growth of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria), inhibits excessive keratinization of the epidermis, reduces the amount of free fatty acids on the skin surface, and reduces the number of blackheads. In addition, azelaic acid inhibits the growth and excessive activity of abnormal epidermal pigment cells (melanocytes).
Indications
Skinoren Cream is a medicine for the treatment of acne and hyperpigmentation of the skin. The medicine contains azelaic acid, which has antibacterial effects, reduces the number of blackheads, and inhibits excessive keratinization of the epidermis. Application
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. This medicine is intended for external use on the skin. Clean and dry the affected area before use. Wash your hands thoroughly after application. The usual dosage of Skinoren Cream is to apply a thin layer of the medicine to the affected skin areas twice daily (morning and evening). A 2.5 cm long strip of cream (about 0.5 g) is sufficient to cover the entire face. If skin irritation occurs, reduce the amount of cream or limit to once daily application. If necessary, discontinue use for a few days. The duration of treatment with Skinoren depends on the severity of the patient's lesions. Improvement in the treatment of acne is usually achieved after 4 weeks of regular use. Do not use the medicine for longer than 12 months. For the treatment of hyperpigmentation, it is recommended to use the medicine for at least 3 months and to use creams with UV-A and UV-B protection (sunlight can worsen skin hyperpigmentation).
