Properties
Olbas Oil is a medicinal product that contains various essential oils which help relieve symptoms associated with colds and sinusitis. The medicine makes breathing easier, liquefies retained secretions, and reduces swelling of the nasal mucosa.
Dosage
This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
A medicine for steam inhalation.
Olbas Oil does not leave greasy stains and does not discolor.
Inhalation
- Children from 7 years, adolescents, and adults: Drip 2 - 3 drops onto a handkerchief or the back of the hand and inhale the escaping vapors. The evaporating effect can be enhanced by adding a few drops of the oil to a cup of warm (not hot) water.
- Children from 3 to 7 years: Put 2 - 3 drops on a handkerchief and inhale from a short distance. For use before bedtime, drip 2 - 3 drops of oil onto a cloth and place it near the child or drip 2 - 3 drops of oil onto the bed linen.
External use
Adults: For rheumatic and muscular pain, rub a small amount of oil onto the painful areas up to 3 times daily.
Effect
Olbas Oil contains various essential oils that help liquefy secretions, reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa, and make breathing easier through inhalation. When applied externally to the skin, Olbas has a mild analgesic, cooling effect and relieves muscle and rheumatic pain.
Indications
Depending on the method of administration, Olbas Oil is indicated for:
- Colds, accompanying colds, and as a supportive treatment for sinus conditions (steam inhalation, free inhalation),
- rheumatic and muscular pain (external use).
