Properties
The medical device Atrauman Ag is a sterile mesh dressing with metallic silver additive, impregnated with an ointment containing plant-based fatty acids.
Effect
Under the influence of the moist wound environment, silver ions are released from the dressing, which have a bactericidal effect (on gram-negative bacteria such as Klebsiella pneumoniae and on gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, including MRSA strains). The triglyceride ointment cares for the wound edges and ensures their elasticity. The dressing does not stick, allows exudate to pass through, and ensures good ventilation and oxygen supply to the wound. The microbiological effect of the product lasts for at least 7 days.
Application of the product
1. Remove the dressing from the packaging.
2. Peel off the protective film on one side and place the product on the wound.
3. Remove the protective film on the other side.
4. Use an additional sterile absorbent dressing to remove excess secretion.
5. Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the dressing can be changed with each change of the secondary dressing.
In case of heavy secretion, it is recommended to cut the Atrauman Ag dressing to prevent accumulation.
