Description
Fluormex Gel is a medicinal product for the topical fluoridation of teeth. The active ingredients are amine fluoride and sodium fluoride. The product is intended for adults and children from 5 years of age.
Composition
The active ingredient is fluoride in the form of amine fluoride and sodium fluoride. 1 g of gel contains 33.19 mg amine fluoride + 22.1 mg sodium fluoride. 1 g of gel contains 12.5 mg active fluoride (12,500 ppm). Other ingredients are: glycerin, propylparahydroxybenzoate, methylparahydroxybenzoate, hydroxyethylcellulose, polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene glycol, purified water, and a flavor enhancer (mint aroma).
Dosage
Use the gel 5 to 10 times per year every two weeks (1 brushing every two weeks over 10–20 consecutive weeks). The treatment should not be repeated more than once a year. Brushing: Put about 1 cm of gel on the toothbrush and brush your teeth for 3 minutes. Rubbing: Rub about 1 cm of the applied gel onto all tooth surfaces with a cotton swab (in the dental office). For children under 9 years with advanced caries, it is recommended to leave small amounts of gel in the fissures of the chewing surfaces. Before starting the fluoridation of the enamel, tartar must be thoroughly removed. After treatment, spit out the saliva. Do not rinse your mouth (except for children under 9 years).
Indications
Fluormex is used for caries prophylaxis, in cases of underdeveloped dental hard tissue, cervical hypersensitivity, and enamel demineralization. It is also recommended for sensitive tooth surfaces stressed by braces, splints, partial dentures, and orthodontic appliances, as well as after the correction of a traumatic bite.
