Characteristics
Apap is a medication that contains the pain-relieving and fever-reducing agent paracetamol. The medication is administered for pain of various origins, whether it be headache, toothache, muscle pain, menstrual pain, joint pain, or neuralgia. Apap can be used against fever, e.g., as a symptom accompanying a cold or flu. The medicine is intended for adults and adolescents from 12 years of age.
Effect
Apap contains paracetamol with pain-relieving and fever-reducing effects.
Indications
The indications for Apap are pain of various origins:
- Headache,
- Muscle pain,
- Toothache,
- Neuralgia,
- Menstrual pain.
- Fever, e.g., in the context of a cold or flu.
Composition
The active ingredient of the medicine is paracetamol (paracetamolum).
1 film-coated tablet contains 500 mg paracetamol.
Excipients: carnauba wax, hypromellose, macrogol, povidone, gelatinized starch, croscarmellose sodium, stearic acid.
Dosage
This medicine should always be taken exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
The medicine is administered orally. The effect of the medicine can be accelerated if taken on an empty stomach.
If the pain lasts longer than 5 days and the fever lasts longer than 3 days, further treatment should be discussed with a doctor.
Adults: 1 to 2 film-coated tablets (500-1000 mg paracetamol), if necessary the dose can be repeated after at least 4 hours up to 3 or 4 times daily.
The maximum daily dose is 8 film-coated tablets per day, i.e., 4 g paracetamol per day.
Adolescents from 12 years: 1 film-coated tablet, i.e., 500 mg paracetamol, if necessary the dose can be repeated after at least 4 hours 3 to 4 times daily.
