Composition
(1 gram ointment): 166.7 mg standardized suspension of an Escherichia coli bacterial culture (killed with 3.3 mg liquid phenol). The suspension contains cell components and metabolic products of 330 million Escherichia coli bacteria, which have been killed and preserved with phenol. Other ingredients of the medicine are: lanolin, yellow petrolatum.
Effect
Posterisan stimulates the body's immune system and supports the natural defense response against infections. This effect leads to relief from itching and burning.
Indications
Posterisan ointment is used for itching, moisture, and burning in the anal area caused by hemorrhoids, anal fissures and fistulas, as well as eczema.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the medicine.
Dosage
Posterisan should always be used according to the doctor's instructions. Posterisan ointment should be applied twice daily, in the morning and evening, after a bowel movement. A thin layer of the ointment (approx. 2.5 g) should be rubbed into the skin and mucous membrane to be treated.
