Properties
Alantan is a medicinal product with moisturizing effects for use in cases of excessive skin keratinization and as a supportive treatment for wounds.
Dosage
This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Alantan ointment is intended for local application on the skin.
Alantan should be gently applied to the affected areas 2 to 3 times daily, unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
A small amount of the ointment can be applied to a sterile compress and placed on the cleaned wound. The dressing should be changed once or twice daily.
Effect
The allantoin contained in Alantan acts on the skin through: keratolytic (exfoliating) effect, stimulation of new tissue growth, protective effect on the skin, improvement of skin moisture.
With regular use in cases of excessive skin keratinization, it can prevent excessive keratin buildup.
Indications
Alantan ointment is used for: the treatment of hard-to-heal wounds, burns (including sunburn); the treatment of chronic skin inflammations with excessive scaling and keratinization (atopic dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, and other skin diseases); the treatment of superficial ulcers, skin and mucous membrane defects.
