PropertiesACC Optima Cough Tablets are a medication that clears the upper airways of stubborn mucus and makes coughing easier. They are used to treat acute and chronic bronchitis resulting from a cold. ACC Cough Tablets contain 600 mg of acetylcysteine. The active ingredient liquefies bronchial mucus, reduces its viscosity, and supports the natural cough reflex, making it easier to cough up. ACC Optima Effervescent Tablets are used to prepare an aqueous solution for drinking. They are intended for children from 14 years of age and adults. ACC cough remedies are taken once daily, and treatment should not last longer than 4–5 days. The daily dose must not be exceeded. Simultaneous use with other cough-suppressant medications may cause problems with coughing up mucus. ACC Cough Tablets are available without a prescription. However, as with all medications, caution is advised. Before use, consult the package leaflet or a doctor.
Indications and Mode of ActionAcetylcysteine acts as a secretolytic (liquefies mucus) and secretomotoric (facilitates the coughing up of mucus from the airways). ACC Optima is indicated for liquefying airway mucus and facilitating expectoration in patients with bronchitis associated with colds.
