Bilobil forte is used to improve cognitive abilities in elderly people (age-related) and to improve quality of life in mild dementia.
Effect
Bilobil forte contains a quantified extract from ginkgo leaves, which improves the supply of oxygen and glucose to the brain. The active ingredients of the extract, flavone glycosides, ginkgolides, and bilobalide, dilate blood vessels, improve blood circulation, prevent platelet aggregation, and protect cells and tissues from damage caused by lack of oxygen by regulating metabolism.
Dosage
The recommended daily dose for adults and elderly people is 3 capsules of Bilobil forte once daily. The tablets should be taken with water. The treatment should last at least 8 weeks. If there is no improvement after 3 months of using the preparation or if symptoms worsen, a doctor should be consulted to decide whether continuation of the treatment is justified. The medicine must not be used in children and adolescents.
