Herbapect is a syrup for use in diseases of the upper respiratory tract accompanied by cough.
Composition
The active ingredients are liquid extract of thyme herb (Thymus vulgaris), tincture of primrose root (Primula veris), and sulfoguaiacol (Sulfogaiacolum).
5 ml syrup contains:
498 mg liquid extract of thyme herb,
349 mg tincture of primrose root,
87 mg sulfoguaiacol.
Excipients: liquid, non-crystallizing sorbitol (E420). The medicine contains 6.4–9.0% (V/V) ethanol.
Dosage
This medicine should always be used exactly as indicated on the label or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Commonly used dosages of Herbapect syrup:
Children over 4 years and adolescents up to 18 years – 2.5 ml syrup 3 to 4 times daily. Not more often than every 4 hours.
Adults – 5 ml syrup 3 to 4 times daily.
A measuring cup is included in the package to help you with dosing.
Take Herbapect after meals.
The medicine should not be used for longer than 7 days. If there is no improvement after 7 days or the patient feels worse, consult your doctor.
Effect
Herbapect is a syrup with expectorant effect. The plant extracts it contains (from thyme herb and primrose root) are traditionally used as expectorants. Another ingredient is sulfoguaiacol, which also has an expectorant effect.
