Properties
The preparation is used for acute rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, otitis media, and for diagnostic purposes to reduce mucosal swelling.
Dosage
Nasivin Classic – Children and adults over 6 years – 1 spray in each nostril 2 to 3 times daily.
Ingredients
1 ml solution contains 0.5 mg oxymetazoline hydrochloride. Excipients: citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, glycerol 85%, purified water.
Effect
Oxymetazoline is a sympathomimetic, constricts blood vessels and thereby eliminates mucosal swelling.
Nasivin Classic is applied nasally and reduces the swelling of the inflamed mucosa and inhibits excessive secretion, allowing the patient to breathe freely through the nose. The constriction of the nasal mucosa leads to the opening and widening of the paranasal sinus passages and to the clearing of the Eustachian tube.
