PropertiesBuscopan is a medication with antispasmodic properties for the treatment of pain such as abdominal pain, gastrointestinal complaints (including irritable bowel syndrome), urinary tract pain, colic, stomach cramps, and gallbladder complaints. Buscopan contains hyoscine, which relaxes the smooth muscles of the internal abdominal organs and thus relieves pain.
DosageAlways take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any questions, please contact your doctor or pharmacist. Buscopan is taken orally. Do not take this medicine for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor. Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 1–2 tablets 3–5 times daily.
EffectBuscopan contains hyoscine, which has an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles (in the gastrointestinal tract and its organs, including the urinary tract). Hyoscine relieves spasms and thus alleviates colicky pain and muscle cramps.
Indications- Abdominal cramps, muscle cramps of the gastrointestinal tract (painful stomach cramps, intestinal colic, irritable bowel syndrome, functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract),
- Dyskinesias and spasms of the bile ducts (acute pain in the bile ducts, biliary colic, functional disorders of the bile ducts),
- Spasms of the urogenital system (dysmenorrhea, renal colic, spasms due to ureteral stones).
