Properties
Zinc is a trace element. It regulates the production of growth hormones and sex hormones (it is essential for the production of sperm and eggs). It reduces the body's susceptibility to infections and allergies. It influences the proper insulin secretion of the pancreas.
Effects
Zinc deficiency causes dysfunctions of the skin, digestive system, nervous system, immune system, and skeletal system. Severe zinc deficiency can cause stunted growth and underdevelopment of the reproductive organs.
Dosage
Children up to 5 years: 1 tablet daily; 5 to 15 years: 2 tablets daily. Adults and adolescents over 15 years: 1 tablet 3 times daily. The tablets should be taken with water after a meal. Whole tablets should not be given to small children.
