Effect
Ketoconazole acts on dermatophytes of the genera Trichophyton, Epidermophyton, Microsporum, and yeasts of the genera Candida and Malassezia (Pityrosporum). Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis, Epidermophyton floccosum, as well as dermatomycosis and dandruff (Pityriasis versicolor). Nizoral cream is also recommended for the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis associated with the yeast Malassezia ovale (Pityrosporum ovale).

Composition
