Properties
Alantan Plus is an ointment for local application on the skin. It contains two active ingredients: allantoin and dexpanthenol, which support skin regeneration, accelerate wound healing, and soothe irritations.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The medicine is intended for topical use on the skin.
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the affected areas should generally be rubbed with the ointment once or several times daily.
Care of infants: Apply to areas prone to diaper rash (after each diaper change). Before applying the ointment, the skin should be washed and dried.
Effect
The medicine contains two active ingredients: allantoin and dexpanthenol.
Allantoin has exfoliating and protective effects on the skin, improves its hydration, and supports wound healing by stimulating the growth of new tissue. With regular use for excessive keratinization of the skin, allantoin can prevent excessive deposition of keratin (a type of protein).
Dexpanthenol penetrates deeply into the skin, where it is converted into pantothenic acid. An increased need for pantothenic acid occurs in injuries and various skin conditions. Dexpanthenol has the ability to bind water, thereby increasing the elasticity of the skin.
Indications
Prevention of diaper rash in infants.
Treatment of various types of wounds, such as abrasions, minor cuts, and skin cracks.
Treatment of sunburn as well as burns after radiation and light therapy.
