Characteristics
The medicinal product Bepanthen Plus Cream contains two active ingredients: dexpanthenol and chlorhexidine. Dexpanthenol plays an important role in skin structure and skin regeneration during wound healing. Chlorhexidine is a disinfectant.
Indications
Treatment and disinfection of superficial wounds of various kinds where there is a risk of contamination (e.g. abrasions, cuts, grazes, skin cracks, burns, inflammations, dermatitis) and treatment of wounds after minor surgical procedures.
Effect
Bepanthen Plus contains two active ingredients: dexpanthenol and chlorhexidine.
- Dexpanthenol is rapidly converted into pantothenic acid after penetrating the skin, which plays an important role in skin structure and skin regeneration during wound healing.
- Chlorhexidine is a disinfectant that acts against gram-positive bacteria, including sensitive strains of Staphylococcus aureus, which are the most common cause of skin infections. Chlorhexidine has a weaker effect on gram-negative bacteria and has no effect on Pseudomonas and Proteus bacteria.
Composition
Active ingredients: Chlorhexidinum, Dexpanthenolum
Dosage
The medicinal product is intended for external use on the skin. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the medicine is usually applied several times a day, as needed, to cleaned wounds or inflamed areas. It is not necessary to apply a dressing. Application to large areas of skin should be avoided. Frequent application of the cream to the same areas may cause skin irritation. Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. If you have any further questions about the use of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
