Ingredients
The active substances are: neomycin sulfate, polymyxin B sulfate, zinc bacitracin.
1 g ointment contains 5 mg neomycin sulfate, 5000 IU polymyxin B sulfate, and 400 IU zinc bacitracin.
Other ingredients of the medicine: white petrolatum.
Indications
Maxibiotic is used for minor wounds (abrasions, scratches, bites), burns, and skin ulcers.
Effect
Maxibiotic is an ointment for topical use on the skin. The active substances are three antibiotics with complementary antibacterial effects against bacteria that cause most skin infections.
Dosage
Medicine for topical use on the skin.
Clean the wound and apply a small amount of the medicine. Maxibiotic should be applied to the affected skin area 2 to 5 times daily. The area may be covered with a gauze bandage or left uncovered after applying the medicine.
Contraindications
* if you are allergic to neomycin, polymyxin B, bacitracin, or any of the other ingredients of Maxibiotic
* if you suffer from hearing disorders (in this case, use of the medicine may cause hearing damage)
* in the case of deep or puncture wounds, severe burns or large skin injuries, as well as weeping lesions, as there is a risk that the active substances may enter the bloodstream and cause systemic side effects
* in the eyes
* in children under 12 years of age
