Description
Octenisept is a skin antiseptic spray for use on skin or wounds. It serves to kill microorganisms and infectious agents and prevents infections. Octenisept contains two active ingredients: octenidine dihydrochloride and phenoxyethanol. These have antibacterial and antifungal effects.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as instructed in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor, pharmacist, or medical professional. Apply Octenisept to the affected area at least once daily by spraying it on, wiping with sterile gauze, or using a dressing to ensure complete moistening. Octenisept should not be used for longer than two weeks without medical supervision.
Indications
Octenisept is intended for adults and children of all ages for: disinfection and supportive treatment of small, superficial wounds and for skin disinfection before non-surgical procedures; supportive antiseptic treatment of closed skin layers after procedures, e.g., postoperative sutures; repeated, short-term antiseptic treatment of mucous membranes and adjacent tissue before and after diagnostic procedures in the oral cavity, genital area, and anus, including vagina, vulva, and glans, as well as before urinary catheterization; in pediatrics (including umbilical cord care); disinfection of the oral cavity (e.g., aphthae, irritation from orthodontic appliances or dentures); temporary, supportive antiseptic treatment of interdigital mycoses; in the genital organs, e.g., for vaginal inflammation and inflammation of the glans.
