Description
Tonic tablets are a herbal medicine to support the heart and circulation and are intended for adults.
Composition
Active ingredients: Hawthorn blossoms (Crataegus spp., folium cum flore), hawthorn fruits (Crataegus spp., fructus), motherwort herb (Leonurus cardiaca L., herba), sweet clover herb (Melilotus officinalis (L.) Lam., herba). One tablet contains: 150 mg hawthorn blossoms, 30 mg hawthorn fruits, 100 mg motherwort herb, 40 mg sweet clover herb. One tablet contains 0.02–0.5 mg coumarins and at least 1.25 mg flavonoids, expressed as hyperoside.
Excipients
Colloidal anhydrous silica, potato starch.
Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Adults: Take 2 tablets 2 to 3 times daily before meals with sufficient liquid. Do not exceed the daily dose of 6 tablets. Do not use for a prolonged period.
Effect
The pharmacologically active compounds in hawthorn primarily strengthen the contraction of the heart muscle and lower blood pressure. They also have a positive effect on cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
Indications
Traditionally, tonic tablets are used to support the cardiovascular system (in the absence of edema, especially in the legs, and when no other medications are required).
