Traditionally used as a laxative for constipation.
Contraindications
Castor oil must not be used in cases of: allergy (hypersensitivity) to castor oil, inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, intestinal obstruction, inflammation of the abdominal organs (including appendicitis), or abdominal pain of unclear origin.
Usage
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any questions, please contact your doctor or pharmacist. Adolescents over 12 years: 1–2 teaspoons of castor oil (4–8 g) once. Adults: 1–2 tablespoons of castor oil (12–24 g) once. Bowel movement occurs about 2–3 hours after intake.
