Banana-flavored Orsalit is a dietary food for special medical purposes, which is used to supplement fluids and minerals during diarrhea and vomiting. It can be used in infants, children and adults.
Action
Orsalit is formulated as a powder to be dissolved in water. The resulting rehydration fluid has a reduced osmolarity and contains glucose, chloride, citrate, sodium and potassium. These components are essential for the proper functioning of the body. The product prevents health-threatening dehydration resulting from diarrhea or vomiting.
Recommended daily serving
The dosage of the product depends on the degree of dehydration and the doctor's recommendations. The most common dosage is 50-100ml of fluid per kg of body weight for the first 4 hours and an additional 5-10ml per kg of body weight after any vomiting or loose stool. The sachet is dissolved in 200ml. of warm, boiled water, and the liquid must be cooled before administration. In the further stage of rehydration, it is recommended to administer 5-10ml of rehydration fluid per kg of body weight.
