Composition
Each tablet contains the active ingredient 324 mg acetylsalicylic acid and the following excipients: anhydrous citric acid, sodium bicarbonate, povidone 25, a mixture of dimethicone and calcium silicate (70%:30%), a mixture of sodium docusate and sodium benzoate (85%:15%), sodium saccharin, lime and lemon flavor.
Effect
Acetylsalicylic acid, the active ingredient in Alka-Seltzer, has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects. The sodium citrate formed when the tablet dissolves in water acts as a buffer and neutralizes excess stomach acid.
Indications
This product is used for mild to moderate pain such as headaches, muscle pain (including general malaise), and toothache. It is also used for pain and fever associated with colds and flu.
Dosage
Adults: Dissolve 1 to 3 tablets in water and drink the effervescent solution. Children over 12 years: For colds and flu, consult a doctor before using this medicine. Take 1 effervescent tablet (324 mg acetylsalicylic acid) each time. If necessary, this single dose can be repeated up to 3 times a day at intervals of 4–8 hours. The maximum daily dose is 3 effervescent tablets. This medicine should not be used for more than 3–5 days without consulting a doctor.
