Properties
Rennie Antacid is an antacid that neutralizes excess stomach acid. It contains two active ingredients: calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate.
Indications
Rennie Antacid is used for the symptomatic treatment of complaints associated with excess stomach acid, such as heartburn, indigestion, bloating, nausea, feeling of fullness or heaviness in the upper abdomen, and belching.
Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any questions, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Recommended Dose
Adults and children over 12 years: 1 to 2 tablets one hour after a meal and before bedtime. Do not take more than 11 tablets per day.
Administration
For oral use. The tablets can be sucked or chewed. In case of heartburn or acid-related pain, you may take one or two additional tablets between the usual doses. Avoid long-term use. Prolonged use and high doses may cause side effects. If symptoms do not improve or only partially improve within 7 days, consult a doctor, as further investigations are recommended to rule out a more serious condition.
Taking more Rennie Antacid than recommended
If you have taken more Rennie Antacid than recommended, stop taking the medicine and drink plenty of fluids. The following symptoms of overdose may occur: nausea, vomiting, muscle weakness, and drowsiness. In case of severe symptoms, seek medical advice, as other methods of fluid replacement (e.g., infusions) may be necessary.
