Composition
Active ingredient: 1 dragee contains 70 mg flavonolignans, calculated as silybin.
Indications
States of convalescence after toxic-metabolic liver damage, caused among others by toxins (e.g. alcohol, pesticides, and hard-to-digest foods). Supportive in liver dysfunction and chronic inflammations.
Effects
Preparation with hepatoprotective properties. The silymarin contained in the preparation stabilizes the cell membranes of hepatocytes and protects against the harmful effects of toxic substances. Silymarin is also believed to intensify the cellular processes of protein synthesis, leading to faster regeneration of new liver cells and antioxidant activity.
Dosage
Oral. Adults and children over 12 years, usually 1 tablet of the preparation 70 mg 3 times daily, after meals. In more severe poisonings, the dose may be increased to 10 tablets per day. The maximum daily dose of 400 mg must not be exceeded. The effectiveness of the preparation is observed after 4 weeks in poisonings, and after 6 months of treatment in chronic diseases.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Not to be used for the treatment of acute poisonings. Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
