Description
Vitaminum E Medana is a medicinal product containing tocopherol (vitamin E) with antioxidant properties. It is used for deficiency states, metabolic disorders, and as supportive treatment for diseases associated with increased formation of free radicals.
Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist. This medicine is intended for oral use. Administer the medicine in a teaspoon of liquid. To measure the recommended dose accurately, hold the dropper bottle at a 45° angle. For children, use only on medical prescription! For other vitamin E deficiency states, the dosage is determined individually depending on the severity of the deficiency. Do not administer the medicine directly from the bottle into the mouth.
Effect
Vitaminum E Medana contains vitamin E with antioxidant properties. Vitamin E protects cells from free oxygen radicals and lipid peroxides.
Indications
For the treatment of deficiency states resulting from long-term inadequate nutrition and metabolic disorders. A deficiency may be associated with hereditary disorders of fat metabolism, such as abetalipoproteinemia, malabsorption syndrome, or cystic fibrosis. It is used as supportive treatment in diseases with increased production of free radicals, such as arteriosclerosis and ischemic heart disease. It is also used supportively in thrombophlebitis, and in ophthalmology it is used for the treatment of atherosclerotic and hypertensive retinopathy.
