Properties
Diohespan max is a medicinal product in tablet form that increases the tone of the veins and has a protective effect on the blood vessels. Diohespan max is used for varicose veins, pain, fatigue, edema, and heavy legs or nighttime cramps, as well as for increased symptoms of hemorrhoids.
Composition
The active ingredient of the medicinal product is diosmin (Diosminum).
1 tablet contains 1000 mg micronized diosmin.
Excipients: polyvinyl alcohol, croscarmellose sodium, talc, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The medicine is taken orally. Recommended dose: 1 tablet daily during a meal. Worsening of symptoms associated with hemorrhoids: 3 tablets daily for 4 days, then 2 tablets daily for another 3 days, with meals. The recommended dose must not be exceeded. The score line on the tablet is only to facilitate breaking for easier intake, not to divide into equal doses.
Effect
Diohespan max acts on the microcirculation by reducing the permeability of small blood vessels and causing stagnation in the microcirculation as well as perivascular inflammation. Diohespan max also reduces the susceptibility of small blood vessels to rupture.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of chronic venous insufficiency of the lower extremities in adults, including: varicose veins; venous ulcers; telangiectasias (dilation of very small veins, so-called spider veins); reticular veins; heaviness, discomfort, fatigue of the legs; restless legs syndrome; leg pain; burning, itching of the skin on the legs; feeling of cold in the legs; nighttime cramps; leg swelling, paresthesias (tingling); skin redness (erythema); skin bruises. Diohespan max is indicated as monotherapy in the early stages of chronic venous insufficiency or as an adjunct to other therapies in all stages of venous insufficiency (C0 – C6 according to CEAP classification). Symptomatic treatment for worsening of symptoms associated with hemorrhoids.
