Characteristics
The medicinal product Heparizen 1000 is a gel intended for application to the skin, contains sodium heparin in its composition, and has a topical anticoagulant effect.
Effect
Heparin sodium in gel form, applied externally to the skin, accelerates the resorption of hematomas and infiltrates. It inhibits superficial inflammatory processes by inactivating enzymes such as hyaluronidase and phosphatase. It has a long-lasting effect on pathologically altered tissues, relieves pain and feelings of tension, improves the metabolism of subcutaneous connective tissue due to its hydrophilic nature, and shortens the duration of illness.
Indications
Heparizen 1000 is a supplementary medicinal product for the treatment of: thrombophlebitis of superficial veins; inflammation of the veins of the lower limbs; varicose veins of the lower limbs; post-traumatic conditions: hematomas, bruises, edema. It is also used for the prevention and treatment of hypertrophic scars and scar formation.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or exactly as instructed by your doctor. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Heparizen 1000 should be applied externally to the skin. Recommended dose: Apply the gel 1 to 3 times daily to the affected skin area and the immediate surroundings. Depending on the size of the lesion, apply 5 to 10 cm of the gel to the skin and massage it in gently for a few minutes.
Composition
The active substance of the medicinal product is heparin sodium. 1 g of the gel contains 1000 IU heparin sodium (heparinum natricum). The other ingredients are: carbomer; ethanol 96%; propylparahydroxybenzoate (E 216); methylparahydroxybenzoate (E 218); sodium hydroxide; purified water.
